    Hamstring Curl: Supine, Physioball Roll, 1 Leg


    Exercise Name: Hamstring Curl: Supine, Physioball Roll, 1 Leg














    Primary Muscles:
    4+ MUSCLE GROUPS
    ABDOMINALS (ALL)
    ABDOMINALS-OVERALL
    CALVES
    GLUTEALS
    HAMSTRINGS
    LEGS (ACCESSORY, ALL)

    Technical Difficulty:
    2 ALARM FIRE: INTERMEDIATE INTENSITY

    PHYSIOBALL

    Training Benefit:
    BALANCE/STABILITY
    STRENGTH


    Starting Position: Lie on the back with the legs straight and heels on top of the Physioball. Place the hands by the side of the body for support. Contract/brace the abdominals as if receiving a punch to the midsection and hold. Lift the right leg above the hips and hold.

    Progress
    : Press through the left heel and lift the hips off of the ground with the left leg remaining straight. Pull the heel toward the body, rolling the ball while bending the left knee. Press through the heel and lift the hips as high as possible. The shoulders, hips and knees should become aligned. Squeeze the gluteals at the top. Return to the starting position and repeat. After the set, repeat on the other side.
